The Myhal Centre, where AAIRL is located
Due to COVID-19 outbreak, the University of Toronto has cancelled all in-person undergraduate courses, as well as research-stream masters and doctoral courses, across its three campuses. Many facilities were shut down and all buildings have been closed since March 17, including the Myhal building where the AAIRL ( ANVIV AI Robotics Laboratory) located.
The university issued “COVID-19 Guideline for Reopening Research Spaces” on June 16th. AAIRL reviewed the guidelines and applied for reopening that was approved by the FASE (Faculty Request to Access On-Campus Research Facilities). The total member of people in each room is limited, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required to work in a lab. PPE includes face shields, cloth masks, disposable masks, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes.
One of AAIRL five on-going projects has resumed the work in the lab on June 26th. The rest of the project teams will move in soon.
